    Route 1 (Dover to Shetland) is our nearest National Cycle Network route – view Sustrans map.

    For repairs, maintenance and a shop, visit Bikeworks in Fife. They’ll get you moving in no time.

  • Walking Walking

    We’re surrounded by farmland, lochs and woods so it’s easy to find routes to explore. You can’t miss the East and West Lomond hills beside us - a great starting point with trails for all abilities.

    A coastal path runs through Kirkcaldy to St. Andrews or alternatively visit the Vane Farm RSPB Nature Reserve to explore the Vane Hill or wander along the wetlands dotted with bird hides.

    Spend an afternoon in a hilarious game of bubble soccer – perfect if you’re a big group. Just 15 minutes away by car is Cluny Activities which offers a range of activities like foot golf, segways, clay pigeon shooting, archery, crazy golf, zip wires and an outdoor adventure playground.

    In Cupar saddle up for some horse riding across country parkland or on rainy days, take your pick from swimming, bowling, or go-karting all within a half hour drive.

    After all that excitement, head to the Eden Mill Distillery in Guardbridge, for a site tour and a gin, whisky or beer tasting session.

    A 3 minute walk outside the campsite is the Balbirnie Bistro and the Orangery Restaurant offering a broad choice of home cooked food that doesn’t break the bank.

    Pubs are scattered in every direction of Balbirnie Park - some are cash only so don’t forget your loose change. The Plough Inn is a welcoming pub with a pool table and a comforting fire in winter. The Dixon Arms is great for hearty pub classics like an all-day breakfast and steak and ale pie.

  • Family Days Out Family Days Out

    If you love wildlife, the enclosed estuary at Montrose Basin Wildlife Centre is home to thousands of wild birds which are worth seeing. You could also meet the resident horses, ponies and donkeys at Redwings Mountains Horse Sanctuary.

    For more outdoorsy activities, Monkie Country Park has a woodland adventure playground, walking trails and water sports equipment available to hire.

    For a touch of history, Explore Captain Scott's Antarctic expedition ship the RRS Discovery at Discovery Point, where there are interactive and multimedia displays. Glamis Castle (6 miles from us) is the Queen Mother’s childhood home where you can have a guided tour and look around the exhibition rooms.
