Why stay here

Abbey Wood is a green and peaceful site despite its urban location. You'll stay amongst the trees in grassy woodland, waking up to singing birds - you may even spot some local wildlife!

The site sits in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, famous for its observatory and National Maritime Museum. Greenwich and the neighbouring Borough of Bexley have a great selection of parks and gardens which are the ideal terrain for cyclists and keen walkers.

For a more leisurely way to see the area, hop on board a river cruise or alternatively take to the skies in an Emirates Air Line cable car. As you explore, keep an eye out for the Greenwich Market or if your taste buds need tickling, head over to Bexley Brewery for some ale sampling.

Getting to London is simple from here. The nearest station is under a 10-minute walk away and that takes you to Waterloo, London Bridge, Charing Cross and Cannon Street stations. Thanks to the network of buses and underground trains, London is very accessible.

The nearest place where you can have a go at watersports is the Danson Park Water Sports Centre, which offers row boating, sailing, kayaking, power boating and fishing.

Closer to central London, but still within 10 miles of the Abbey Wood Site, is Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre where you can try your hand at kayaking, windsurfing and stand-up paddle boarding - if you don't mind getting wet!
