  • Cycling Cycling

    The mainly road-free National Cycle Network route 21 begins in Greenwich and travels past Alderstead Heath down to Gatwick which is part of the Downs and Weald Cycle Route - view Sustrans route map

    In Tilgate Forest you can enjoy well-maintained, leafy trails. Alternatively if you have the leg power, head north towards London and connect up with route 20, The Wandle Art Trail which finishes at the River Thames. 

  • Walking Walking

    We are located on the Pilgrims’ Way where there are several walking options to choose from. Reigate Hill is one of the many trails across the North Downs. You can pick up details about the Downlands Circular Walk from our site entrance or visit the North Downs website for alternative routes.

  • Things to try Things to try

    For a day of dinghy riding, windsurfing, kayaking and paddle boarding, head to Aqua Sports, less than four miles from the site. Journey a similar distance to Go Zorbing London, a woodland zorbing track for a guaranteed adrenaline rush.

    For the avid speedster, big or small, Surbiton Raceway is just a 30 minute drive away. Alternatively enjoy breathtaking aerial views of Surrey on a flying experience - these are available at Redhill Aviation Flight Centre nearby.

    Visitor’s recommendations: The Fox pub is nearest to us - approximately 40 minutes away if you are out exploring on foot. Start the day with a cooked breakfast at the Redhill Aerodrome where you might get to see helicopters taking off and landing. Just 15 minutes in the car and you’ll be in Reigate where you’ll find several pubs, restaurants and live music on certain nights.

    In less than a 30 minute drive is 600 acres of sculpted parkland at Gatton Park and Gardens. For panoramic views of the countryside go to Box Hill, a National Trust property where you’ll also find the Stepping Stones and Box Hill Bugs, the outdoor toddler group.

    The local theme parks Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures are both brimming with rides for all ages. In Chessington you’ll also find Go Ape, a tree top climbing obstacle course, a zoo and a Sea Life Centre too!
