The nearby town of Wareham is only three miles away with a good selection of shops and places to eat. Some of the most attractive parts of Dorset are owned by the National Trust including substantial stretches of Jurassic coastline. Explore the fields and nearby beaches – Durdle Door, one of Dorset’s most iconic landmarks, is just 12 miles away.

    Try the Wareham Forest Way walk or explore the Lulworth Cove and Fossil Forest and explore the remains of the 145 million year old forest.

    Explore Poole’s only Country Park by Segway! Roll around Upton House and Country Park – take a glimpse of the formal gardens, lawns and shoreline of Holes Bay before returning to Upton House.

    Test your accuracy skills and try your hand at clay pigeon shooting. Whether you’re a novice or experienced, Purbeck shooting school offer a range of courses for you to try.

    Head on over to the Hunter’s Moon for a choice of popular foods that will fuel your adventures along the Jurassic Coast. Opt for traditional pub food or settle down for a drop of your favourite tipple.

    After your walk around Lulworth Cove, reenergise at the Boat Shed Café. With views overlooking the cove and a terrace dining area the nautical themed restaurant serves breakfasts, lunches, cakes and seasonal fish dishes.

    The 29029 offers contemporary, upmarket Indian and Nepalese food, and comes highly recommended by our visitors.

  • Family Days Out Family Days Out

    Take your little monkeys to visit the Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre, where they can learn all about monkey life. Guided talks and play areas are available; you could even adopt a monkey of your own!

    Continue your learning journey at the Tank Musuem in Bovington. The museum has the world’s best collection of tanks and explosive live displays, with nearly 300 armoured vehicles and rides to explore.

    Venture a little further to Poole; there’s plenty to see and do in this coastal town. Tumble on tyres and twist through the tubes at Splashdown Waterpark for great fun for all the family.
